After a Super match in the Opening round of the Euro 2012 Qualifier, home side Portugal came out as winners when they defeated Cyprus by 4-3. Home side was stunned with the great attacking powers of Cyprus as the kept the game alive untill the last minutes of the match. Aloneftis scored to open the scoring for the away side but a goal from Almaida made it 1-1 on the night. Cyprus again took the lead which was again equilized by Meireles and was turned into advantage by Danny.
